Decided impromptu to pick this Marriott property for a 2 night staycation while visiting family. The property is located in a scenic area away from hustle bustle of Mussoriee. Wish they had some areas not accessible to kids - many areas were overrun by noisy loud kids, given this is peak season the hotel had high occupancy including many children. The staff is nice and friendly and many go above and beyond to make sure they are taking care of the their guests / tables. I needed some medicine from the pharmacy last night and the front desk staff was very helpful to have someone run the errand to get the medicine. Food quality on many dishes is up to the mark as expected from a Marriott property - breakfast items continental and Indian food, masala chai quality is consistent- good job. Spoke with many staff and servers and they all said their managers didn’t care and typically leave early. We found that none of the waiting staff had any or no plans to continue working here beyond a couple of months !! Disappointing water quality - they call it RO water (reverse osmosis), it’s free, however there were many floating impurities in the bottle that we found - so I personally stuck to paid sparkling bottled water and recommend anyone planning to visit do the same. Salad had cucumbers (not mini /baby cucumbers) pieces that has its skin on, not being picky but have not seen it any other 5 star Marriott property. The hotel also loses power frequently. They have a generator that is quite silent and has a long high exhaust. However yesterday evening when the generator was running in afternoon we could smell the smoke in our room on 5th floor. Surely not a 5 star experience, I think tier two cities have a different standard for what is 5 star. My 2 cents for this Marriott - model and replicate service and quality of Le Meridian, New Delhi.

Apart from a few logistical glitches & goof ups by the front desk , the stay at the hotel was very comfortable and fun filled. The property is beautiful, food is wholesome & delicious , the staff (Chef Shivang & Manager Akansha) we’re extremely helpful & they took care of my family (specially kids) as their own 🙌

We visited JW Marriott this May and it was an amazing experience. Beautiful picturesque location, delicious food and friendly staff made our stay memorable. Yoga session with Kiran was insightful. She was very patient and explained clearly the benefits of each asana. I’m thankful to Ragini, Sandeep and all the other staff for their exceptional service. We will definitely plan a trip again!

This time our summer escape found us in Mussourie. Our stay in JW Marriott - walnut groves was like a dream- with a clear view of the Garhwal Ranges. Breakfast was sumptuous and dinners - be it in Trout and Grill or Teppan or in-room dinning - were lip-smacking. Kumardhari mutton recommended by Mr. Gurpreet in Trout and grill and too good. Spa was nourishing and breakfast was lavish. If you have a sweet tooth- grab the pancakes in the live counter.
